Submitting data store content for scientific purposes

Using the form provided below you can submit the content of your data store to Sascha Silbe to be used in developing the Sugar data store. Unless you explicitly grant permission in the form below it will be treated as confidential and not be provided to any third party.

Please consider allowing your data store content to be shared with other Sugar developers. Doing so will allow them to run benchmarks and tests on the same set of data and thus reproduce my results.

Instructions

To submit a copy of your data store please follow these steps:

1. Open Terminal
2. Cut and paste the following commands, pressing Return each time to execute them:
   • tar -cvzf ~/datastore.tar.gz ~/.sugar/default/datastore
   • copy-to-journal -m application/x-tar -t "Copy of data store contents" ~/datastore.tar.gz
3. Open this page in Browse (if you haven't already)
4. Fill out the form below and click on "Proceed"
5. In the form on the next page, click on the "Browse" button
6. Choose "Copy of data store contents" in the object picker that just opened (after clicking on the object it can take a while until the object picker is closed)
7. Click "Submit"
8. Wait until the file has been transmitted (can take a very long time!)
9. Switch to the Journal
10. Erase the "Copy of data store contents" (right click, "Erase")
